Some ideas became businesses. Some became lessons. Every one made us better.
About us
Ash and Brad Sexberg founded the company, originally Brash Enterprises, in February 2017 while exploring a range of business ideas.
The arrival of Zach, their Pug and French Bulldog cross, focused many of those ideas toward pets. From retail and wholesale to product concepts and service experiments, the pair learned by building, testing and listening to customers.
Through Zach’s Pet Shop and B2B Pet Supplies, they served more than 25,000 customers before selling the businesses in November 2022. Today, The Zachary Group remains in an R&D and investment phase, evaluating opportunities where real customer needs, commercial value and thoughtful execution meet.

Family pet retail
Zach’s Pet Shop was a small family-operated pet supply boutique founded in Brisbane. From 2018, we shipped pet supplies to dog and cat families around Australia and overseas. It was born from the love of our Frug, Zach.
After its sale, Zach’s Pet Shop continued under new ownership from the Central Coast of New South Wales.

Wholesale distribution
Importer and distributor of pet supplies to Australian and New Zealand pet shops and veterinary clinics.
Our range included Natural Dog Company and All For Paws. The business grew from earlier wholesale experimentation through Pet Monster Pet Supplies.
Experiments and lessons
We are proud of the ventures that worked and equally honest about those that did not. Each helped us understand customers, product-market fit, operations and when to persist or stop.

Our first service concept: attending rental inspections for time-poor or interstate renters. It attracted media attention, but not enough sustained market demand.

After serving more than 25,000 customers, Zach’s Pet Shop and B2B Pet Supplies are handed to new owners.
Ash and Brad continue their corporate careers while The Zachary Group researches and evaluates future opportunities.
Meet the family

Co-founder
Ash brings experience across product strategy, customer experience, digital transformation and commercial growth. He helped shape new concepts, build customer propositions and guide the group’s retail and wholesale ventures.

Chief Happiness Officer
The reason much of this began. Zach inspired the move into pets, appeared in brand photography and remained closely involved in meetings, treats and quality control.

Co-founder
Brad brings a practical focus on strategy, growth, operations and turning ideas into reality. Together with Ash, he helped build, operate and ultimately sell the group’s pet businesses.
